To pair

  1. Run hopli on your desktop
  2. Open the pairing screen it shows
  3. Scan the code with this phone

The code carries the desktop's address and its certificate fingerprint. That is the only way the two find each other — a browser cannot discover anything on a local network on its own.

Why there is nothing to log into

This page is static. Your files go directly from one device to the other over an encrypted connection your desktop proves it owns. Don't take our word for it — unplug your internet and it keeps working.
