hopli is free to use, and there is not much to agree to.
There is no account, no payment, and no service holding your data — so most of what usually fills a page like this does not apply.
What you are using
A web page your devices load, and optionally a program you run on your own computer. Files, messages and voice recordings move between your devices, or between yours and someone else's, and not through us. We do not operate a service that carries them, and there is nothing for us to suspend, throttle, or delete.
The one thing we do run is a small mailbox that holds a sealed pairing message for a few seconds so that two devices can find each other. It cannot read what it holds, it holds nothing else, and it deletes what it has within fifteen minutes at the outside. It may be unavailable at any time, in which case invitations cannot be created until it is back.
No warranty
hopli is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. It may contain bugs. It may fail to transfer a file. Keep your own copies of anything you care about, and do not treat a transfer as a backup.
This is the standard disclaimer, and it is meant literally rather than defensively: software that moves your files should be something you can verify, not something you take on faith.
Nothing is kept
A conversation lives only while it is open. There is no history, no archive, and no way for us or for you to retrieve a message after the fact. A deleted message is gone from both screens. A voice recording is never saved to either device at all.
Said here as well as on the privacy page because it cuts both ways: it is the reason nothing can leak, and the reason nothing can be recovered.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for what you send, for what you record, and for who you approve. hopli shows you a code to compare and asks before every file precisely so that those decisions stay yours. Do not use it to move material you have no right to move, and do not record anyone who has not agreed to be recorded.
Because nothing passes through us, we cannot moderate, intercept or recall anything you send. That is the design, and it puts the whole of that responsibility with you.

These terms may change as hopli does. The date at the top says when they last did.
